What can I migrate from Zendesk?
Tickets and comments (with original author and timestamp), end-users / requesters as customers, organisations as accounts, tags, and core custom fields. Anything not covered out-of-the-box can come across via CSV import.
What does NOT auto-migrate from Zendesk?
Triggers / automations, voice (Talk) recordings, the full Help Center theme, marketplace app data, and macros. These are intentionally rebuilt in Tixallo so the rule semantics are predictable. Most teams find rebuilding 5–10 core macros and a handful of automations covers the bulk of their volume.
Will I lose ticket history?
Ticket and comment history is preserved with original author and timestamp. We don't promise zero-loss for every edge case — that's why we use a chunked importer with a dead-letter queue, so any rows that fail are visible and re-runnable rather than silently lost.
How long does migration take?
Most small teams cut over in a few days. The import itself runs in the background; the slow part is usually re-creating macros and routing rules. For very large Zendesk accounts (100k+ tickets) plan for a longer parallel-run window.
Can I run Tixallo alongside Zendesk during cutover?
Yes. Set up Tixallo first, point a forwarding address or alias at it, and only flip your main support@ when you're confident.
Can I roll back to Zendesk if something goes wrong?
Yes — because the recommended cutover is side-by-side. Your Zendesk account stays live and untouched while you import into Tixallo and route a forwarding alias. If you hit a blocker, you simply keep replying from Zendesk and stop forwarding new mail to Tixallo. The full switch (changing your main support@ MX/forwarding) only happens when you're confident.
